Robert de Nobili, systematically, made some efforts to interact with Hindu people. The Western Colonial period signifies the beginning of a new era in Hindu-Christian relationships.

The impact of Christianity on Hinduism and vice versa was moreover silent till the beginning of the nineteenth century. Christians and Hindus have interacted for over 2000 years in the Indian sub-continent.
